SPRING has sprung. Or has it...
The first day of spring. It’s nice and warm today, so there’s every reason to feel happy.
But technically speaking, spring hasn’t quite sprung yet. Not if you follow the astronomical calendar, anyway.
In the truest sense, in Australia, New Zeland, Indonesia spring starts on or around September 21 (the date varies by a day or so each year), This is known as the spring equinox, and it heralds the day when the southern hemisphere receives more sun than the northern hemisphere.
For the record, this all happens because of the 23.5 degree tilt of the Earth’s axis.
Spring is here.
Spring is coming, spring is coming.
How do you think I know?
I see a flower blooming,
I know it must be so.
Spring is coming, spring is coming,
How do you think I know?
I see a blossom on the tree,
I know it must be so.
